Most applicants move through a profile and documents, a DBS offer, funds evidence, a D-type student visa, travel, and IRP/GNIB registration after arrival. The order below is the usual path. Processing times and document lists change — re-check official sources before you pay a fee or book a visa appointment.
- 01
Profile preparation
Assemble academic records, English test plan, and budget.
Start 8-12 months before your intended intake. Clean up your CV, gather transcripts, plan your IELTS/PTE test date, and sketch a realistic budget.
- ✓Compile all transcripts and certificates
- ✓Book IELTS/PTE/TOEFL
- ✓Draft CV
- ✓Estimate total budget (tuition + living)
- 02
Course & university shortlist

- ✓Check post-study relevance for Bangladesh/global market

- ✓Request 2 academic references
- ✓Upload transcripts and English test
- ✓Pay application fee
- 04
Offer & acceptance
Accept an unconditional offer and secure a place.
Once conditions are met (final transcripts, IELTS), the offer becomes unconditional. Accept formally.
- ✓Meet outstanding offer conditions
- ✓Formally accept the offer
- ✓Request the Letter of Acceptance for visa
- 05
Tuition payment
Pay first tuition instalment before visa lodgement.
Irish universities require tuition or first instalment paid before issuing final CAS-equivalent documents for visa submission.
- ✓Pay first tuition instalment
- ✓Obtain receipt
- ✓Ask for updated Letter of Acceptance mentioning payment
- 06
Financial preparation
Prepare evidence of funds, source of funds and sponsor documents.
Prepare access to the required amount — normally at least €10,000 for estimated living costs on a one-year course — plus tuition paid or receipted. Submit six months of bank account history, a clear source of funds, and an explanation with evidence for any large or unusual deposits. This is an immigration threshold, not a full living budget.
- ✓3 months of bank statements
- ✓Sponsor affidavit if applicable
- ✓Source-of-funds documents (tax, business)
- 07
